UK Seeks Partnership in South Pars Projects

TEHRAN, Oct 18 – Representatives of British Private Commerce Chamber have in a meeting with directors and officials of the upstream sector of Pars Oil and Gas Company (POGC) said they are ready for contribution into South Pars project.

Addressing the joint meeting, advisor to the Engineering and Development Department at the NIOC Mohammad-Ali Emadi said the meeting was held to assess ways and means of presence in the Iranian oil and gas value chain and all the fields Iran seeks attraction of technical services and technology in the upstream sectors.

Emadi said the companies present in the meeting represent the medium-sized British industries, busy in technical, drilling, gas transfer, erosion and HSE domains.

Emadi said Iran opts for transfer of needed technology to raise level of production in the oil and gas fields. “The new model of Iranian oil industry contracts has prepared the ground for import of technology in the upstream sectors.”

Emadi added that interested international companies are expected to identify Iranian partners will upgrade level of partnership to the level prior to sanctions.

Martin Johnston, Director General of the British Iranian Chamber of Commerce (BICC), told the audience that regarding their skill and profession for contribution to the projects and also regarding new round of ties between Iran and the UK, the two sides can serve as reliable partners in oil and gas offshore and onshore projects, playing a new role in the oil and gas fields.
